The government is seeking public feedback and ideas on ways to improve national unity and 1Malaysia.

Is the PM of Malaysia the people's PM if he is only elected by a race base party? Can he be acting fairly to all Malaysians under his unity and 1Malaysia program when he is beholden by his one race party members?

How can Najib's unity and 1Malaysia works when the PM is elected by only one race that contradicts his prescription that 1Malaysia is equality to all Malaysians?

My feedback suggestion #3 to KPI minister is very simple and straight forward.

Let The Malaysian Voters Vote For The Prime Minister That They Want.

I had place a poll at the top page for your feedback that the KPI minister wanted:

For Unity And 1Malaysia To Function, Should The Prime Minister Of Malaysia Be Elected By All Malaysian Voters

  1. Richard,

I did not vote in your poll because the 2 choices given to me did not allow me to express my thoughts on how a Malaysian PM should be chosen without rejecting the Westminster system of democracy on which Malaysia's is based.

Having said that, I do not think it right either that only 2,500 UMNO delegates should decide it for us.

I know where you are coming from but unfortunately for us, we do not practice the US type of democracy. To change from a Westminster type to a US type is too drastic an option if you want my honest opinion.

Malaysia is not yet ready for that as we are still surrounded by fellow Malaysians who can't see past their noses and the importance of a bigger picture.

Alas for us who can see the bigger picture, we still have to bear with our fellow Malaysians who are myopic and have bread and butter issues to contend with daily!

Simply put, we don''t have the numbers to make what you suggest work so I believe that it is better to work within the system than to change the system.

Look around you at our fellow Malaysians and you will know what I mean!

Sorry but no, we are not yet ready as a nation to adopt what you suggest.

  2. romerz,

I concur with what you wrote, the question is do they really practice it in total.

The present set of leaders, lead by an Umno PM, can manipulate and play around with the country's so call Westminster system of democracy to suit their needs.

Umno president and PM wants unity and promote his 1Malaysia and ask for feedback and suggestions.

So, this is one of the feedback that I am suggesting for them to look into, which I feel can in a way help the umno PM's unity and 1Malaysia concept.

I also feel that it can be done if they wanted too, since they are so good in manipulation of things around in this country.

The poll is just to gauge the people's opinion whether it can or cannot help to promote unity and the 1Malaysia concept.
