Stop using mosques for politics, Selangor Sultan warns

“This is because mosques and suraus are places where Muslims gather to perform their religious obligations and to foster closer relationship among them.

“If mosques and surau are allowed to be used as arenas for political campaigns, it is feared that they will be misused to insult, slander and make baseless accusations at others,” the Sultan was quoted by Bernama today

I am in full agreement with the Sultan, as places of worship should not be used for political agenda.

It would be good if the Sultans and Agong can come out with this same kind of warning to the civil servants serving the public to be impartial in performing their duties.

The judiciary, PDRM, MACC, EC and Ministries must carry out their public duties impartially without any kind of political influence.

This cannot be construed that the rulers are interfering in politics as the judiciary, PDRM, MACC and EC are appointed by the rulers and not political parties. Their job function is primarily to serve the public and their impartiality and independent must be above all. They are employed by the people to serve the King, country and the public and not to any political party.

The rulers must come out with a stern warning to civil servants especially the judiciary, the PDRM, the MACC and the EC not to be influenced by any political party while performing their duties.
