The government is seeking public feedback and ideas on ways to improve national unity and 1Malaysia.
Today we will start the second part of feedback and suggestions to the KPI Minister. If you have missed the first part you can find them here.
The human spinal column comprises of 7 neck vertebrae, 12 thoracic vertebrae, 5lumbar vertebrae, 5 sacral vertebrae and a tail vertebrae. These vertebrae forms the backbone of the human body. If you try to remove any one of it or try to exchange position among the vertebrae or placing something within them, the pain will be devastating and you can be paralyzed for the rest of your life.
Education : The act of educating, teaching, or training; the act or art of developing and cultivating the various physical, intellectual, aesthetic and moral faculties; instruction and discipline.
Education is like the human spinal column. We have 6 years of primary education, 5 years of secondary education, 2 years of pre-u education and between 3 to 7 years of university education. Education forms the backbone of the country. Trying to manipulate or juggle it around will cause devastating effect on the country growth.
The problem with our education system started in the 70's when a doctor started to dismantle our good education system (within the top ten among the Asian countries in the 60's) to suit his own agenda thus crippling instead of advancing it.
Just like the human spinal column, you cannot put foreign matters into it. Placing political influence and unwarranted characters to spice up the education system cannot advance our education but instead worsen it, not to mention the pain that it causes and now we are more or less coming to the paralyzed stage.
My feedback and suggestion #9 to the KPI Minister is to look in our education system.
We need a full time Education Minister working with a team of real professional educationalist to come out with a proper education system for the country. Their job function is to craft out an education system that is at par with world standard and they must not be politically influenced or likely to use race, mediocrity guidelines but just base on the needs of MALAYSIANS in order to meet world class standard. Provide them the fund and a time frame of say 2 years to come out with a final proposal. There cannot be any more testing period. Once the proposal is put to parliament for approval and endorsed, the system will be on the move.
This feedback suggestion #9 is a test on the sincerity of the PM "1Malaysia, People First Performance Now" slogan. What the country needed most now, is a standard and proper way of educating all Malaysians with the same mind and goal.
