I had not read any print newspaper for over 5 years and today I happened to get the free copy of The Sun. I read the front page side column with the title; "Anti-corruption efforts noted, ranking drops". This is what TI-M president Datuk Paul Low said as reported by The Sun.
"PM Najib's moves to initiate reforms in some institutions, especially the judiciary, and the setting up of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, to make them more independent, transparent and accountable, was the way forward for the country."
Did we see the judiciary and MACC being reformed to be more independent, transparent and accountable? Up till today we have yet to see any reform or am I living in another world?
When things go bad for the government there is always thousands of reasons and excuses being given by leaders and worst the president of TI-M, they some how or rather need to say good things to cover up what is bad.
Malaysia plunged nine places from last year’s 47th Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index (CPI) ranking to 56th position this year. Read the list of ranking here.
If I am the TI-M president, this will be my comment.
"Malaysia corruption ranking will keep on sliding should the judiciary and MACC still maintain the way they are performing now. PM Najib must free the judiciary and MACC immediately which are under his domain. Let them performed their duties without fear or favor and most important, NO POLITICAL INTERFERENCE. By just talking of reform without walking the talk will not uplift the ranking. PM Najib must have integrity and the guts to walk all his talk."
