Encouraging And Promising Launch Of "Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia" SABM
Isn't it frustrating that after 52 years of independence we are still toiling around, with certain risk, to bring Malaysians together. We are being issued birth certificates, identity cards as well as travelling passports indicating that we are Malaysians. The Constitutions were written to ensure that all Malaysians are fairly treated with equal opportunity regardless of race, religion or culture. Why than are we still separated by race, religion and culture?
Haris of People's Parliament had identified the causes and strongly announced that "We Must Take Back Our Country". SABM is non partisan, so to abide by it, I am not going to point finger on who is guilty but hoping and wishing that SABM will be able to work together with both sides of the political divide to bring all Malaysians of different races, religions and cultures to come together as "One People, One Nation".
You can read more on Haris's thought here and the official SABM website which was also officially launched is available here.
I attended the launching and when I arrived at around 4:30pm I can see the full SABM team hard at work preparing for the launch. Even though it rain, at times quite a heavy pour, nothing is gonna stop this launch.
The Barisan Rakyat team was there and you can read their postings with photos from
ShanghaiFish, Hawkeye, The Whisperer and Zorro.
It was also a great opportunity to meet up the first time with fellow bloggers, Din Merican, Lita, Malik Imtiaz, SKThew and FB friends, Padma, Pat Lu, Jarod, and Tricia. The tigress of Seremban, Angela, who led the Seremban candle light vigil was there as well. There are bloggers and FB friends who may be there whom I may have missed, sorry.
My simple camera managed to snatch a few photos to share with you all.
I was there too but left early..
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a great moment, to a great beginning of something good for all Malaysians.
left a comment at FB wonder if you see it.
ReplyDeletewahh! graduating to KL event, no wonder not at our small humble penang gathering. :(
aiya, we dunno you went to kl. if yes, we want to ask you to buy some of the t-shirts for the members here (to resell to them) in penang. hope you don't desert the penang members here eh!
Hi Richard
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to have met you. We missed each other at Central Market the last time because I didn't know you were there.
Anyway, take care and Selamat Hari Raya to you.
