Reaching the mid point of campaigning and many analysts are predicting who will win base on race composition. Umno is taking charge in the campaign for the only Malaysian with multi racial names, Kamalanathan (kamal-alan-athan) and it shows very distinctly that umno requires the malay voters more in order to win.

The campaign by umno had being turned into slandering and character assassination. Drinking and gambling are the moral issues that they hit at Zaid Ibrahim without realising that most of umno' ministers, MP and adun were also at one time or another connected to these immoral acts.

Kamalanathan even declared openly that he believed in Perkasa's right to defend only the malays which confirmed that umno is perkasa and perkasa is umno. He claimed that the smear campaign was UMNO's idea and not his. What does these tell us about Kamalanathan, he is nothing but a puppet to umno/perkasa.

Today, Kamalanathan, put up a brave front by saying "Ask about what I can do, not what BN does". Really, what can you really do when mic for the past 52 years cannot do anything, especially for the Indians. Sadly no reporters pose this question back to him.

With four more days of campaigning, unless Zaid can turned the table on his moral issues, it looks likely that umno will sail through.

Thus, the winning formula for umno is, if umno can win 60% of Malay, 30% of Chinese and 60% of Indians votes, the calculations will be :

30% out of the 26.7% of Chinese votes = 8.01% of Total

60% of the 53.9% of Malay votes = 32.34% of Total votes

60% of the 19% Indian votes = 11.4% of Total

Thus 8.01% + 32.34% + 11.4% = 51.75%.

The winning margin will depend on the voters turnout.

To Hulu Selangor voters, is moral issue the only criteria for selecting your MP. It is no doubt that Zaid had done what he should not have but he had admitted and repented. The issue at hand is not about morality but if you insist that it is a concern, then it should apply across the board.

YB Lim Kit Siang, in his speech in Parliament had this to say:

I challenge UMNO and Muslim Ministers, in particular the Umno Youth leader and MP for Rembau Khairy Jamaluddin, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, the Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, the Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak whether they dare to declare that they had never drank alcohol in their youth in the past!

If having had drinks in the past incapacitates one from holding office, then we will lose half the Cabinet as well as the Malaysian Ambassador to the United States and we will need to have a by-election in Rompin.

Why is UMNO and Barisan Nasional so desperate in the Hulu Selangor by-election that they have to resort to such gutter politics?

My posting above had highlighted that Kamalanathan is nothing but a puppet to umno and we know that umno is not whiter than white and in fact they are immoral as well, they are arrogant, racist and corrupt.

We want change and Hulu Selangor by election is the catalyst to that change which is forth coming in the 13th General Election.

In closing, my opinion is that Zaid Ibrahim should be your choice as MP for Hulu Selangor.
