My Merdeka Raya Holiday trip to Pangkor Island, Teluk Intan & Klang Pt1

I started my journey on 30th August 2011, the first day of Raya at 6 am from Penang Island. Taking the expressway and existed at Changkat Jering toll. Passing through small quiet towns, no traffic as its still early in the morning. Before reaching Lumut there are bigger towns like Bruas and Sitiawan. Arrived at the Lumut jetty around 9 am and all car park were already full. Managed to find one lot on the main road. Bought a full day parking ticket for RM3.

The fare to and fro cost RM10 and travelling time took about 40 minutes one way.











Rented a car for three hours at the rate of RM100, costly because that day was a public holiday. The roads round the island are narrow and with houses on both sides when reaching the villages, they look very congested.

Actually there is nothing much on the Island but if you love the sea, then its worth the trip. I took only 2 1/2 hours to complete the whole island tour. A little shopping, buying some salted fish, ikan bilies and biscuits.

Return the rented car and take the ferry back to the mainland for my onward journey to Teluk Intan.
